“They/Them/Us” is an independent feature film that will be shot in Columbus, ohio in 2020.

They/Them/Us tells the story of Charlie and Lisa, two divorced parents in their 40’s who find themselves at a midlife crossroads. Both are single parents and they have four complicated teenagers between them: one non-binary gender kid, one who orders his weed through the mail, the outspoken one, and last but not least, the “good” child. Lisa and Charlie meet on a dating site, fall madly in love and move in together way too soon. They/Them/Us is the story of how they manage the challenges of parenting some very demanding teenagers while trying to juggle their new relationship.

It is our mission to feature the Midwest as a place in which people are struggling with all the issues we see in countless films and television shows set in New York and Los Angeles. By setting the story in Columbus, the film will connect with a population that is more representative of the rest of the country than a coastal city in which we see people living a life of privilege. Columbus needs a story that will help the city find its cinematic identity, that shows Columbus for what it is: an energetic city filled with diverse families and open-minded, creative people.
