Selected to be the first production of the Columbus Pictures film fund, The production was also awarded the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit. 

Written and directed by Jon Sherman(he/Him),(“Breathing Room” and “I’m With Lucy”), Professor of Film at Kenyon College, SHERMAn also sits on the board of both the Drexel theater and Film Columbus and is an active spokesperson for the development of our burgeoning film industry.  


Notable local contributors to the making of this film are Executive Producer, Chad Whittington, President and CEO of CAPA, and Film Blogger and champion of the Columbus film scene, Babette Gorman. 


Much of the crew of “They/Them/Us” are locally-sourced and will include award-winning Editor, Mike Olenick, editor of “Knives and Skin. ”

“They/Them/Us” is writer/director Jon Sherman’s third feature film. His first film, Breathing Room, starred Dan Futterman, Susan Floyd, Edie Falco, and Paul Giamatti. It was released in more than 25 countries worldwide. His next film, I’m With Lucy, was a romantic comedy produced by Gaumont, the largest film studio in France. It starred Monica Potter, Gael Garcia Bernal, Julie Christie, Anthony LaPaglia, John Hannah and Harold Ramis. It was the opening night film at the 2002 Deauville Film Festival and has been released in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Sherman has also written and directed films for the Oxygen Network and has worked with Working Title Films (Four Weddings and a Funeral), Depth of Field Productions (American Pie) and Universal Pictures. He is currently an Associate Professor of Film at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.

 

Executive Producer, Tim Perell (He/Him), has produced more than 30 feature films, including “Last Chance Chance Harvey”, starring Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson, “The Rebound”, starring Catherine Zeta Jones and “World’s Greatest Dad”, starring Robin Williams. In addition to “They/Them/Us”, he is currently producing “Party of the Century”, written and directed by Oscar-nominated Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini and starring Josh Gad, Chloe Grace Moriz and Jack O’Connell.

 

Casting Director Joey Montenarello, (He/Him) is a Casting Director at Stewart/Whitley, working primarily on Television and Film projects. Prior to joining the team at Stewart/Whitley, Joey spent six years as Associate Casting Director at Barden/Schnee Casting, where he cast numerous projects including: Film: Spotlight, Leave No Trace, Still Alice, Clemency, Timmy Failure, Pitch Perfect 2 & 3, The Girl on the Train, Sisters, Ma, The Upside, Galveston, The Boy Downstairs, Get on Up, Prisoners; Television/New Media: 13 Reasons Why (Pilot - Netflix), Jessica Jones (Season 1 - Netflix), The Last OG (Season 1 - TBS), Girlboss (Netflix), Good Girls Revolt (Amazon), Queen America (Facebook Watch), Bonding (Netflix). Most recently, Joey also freelanced as a Casting Director, casting a few Independent and short films that have yet to be released, including The Hard Night and Soft. Joey is also a five time Artios Award Nominee.

David Carbonara, (He/Him) is an American film and TV composer. He is best known for his work on the critically acclaimed TV series Mad Men. His other television shows include Vegas, The Romanoffs, the mini series The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe, as well as producing original songs for the period drama The Last Tycoon.

Producer Garrett Bates (He/Him)Garrett is an NYC based Producer. His recent works include Netflix's Emmy nominated series "It's Bruno", “Hungry Saints” staring international award-winning actress Magaly Solier and HBO’s Tara Thaller, and “The Atlantic City Story” starring Emmy nominated Jessica Hecht and Tony nominated Columbus, Ohio local Mike Faist. Garrett is currently working on an untitled documentary series in conjunction with Bron Studios (Joker; 2019).
